Jan Dane, CEO and President
Jan W. Dane, a U.S. resident, born on May 1, 1953, is the Chief Executive Officer and President of DBR & Associates, LLC and the Managing Director of Dane Investors Management (DIM), B.V. Mr. Dane was born and educated in Holland.
Since the late 1970's, Mr. Dane has been engaged in the acquisition, management, and sale of commercial real estate. Initially, he focused on hotel investments. In 1982 with 5 hotels and 800 hotel rooms, he was the largest hotel operator in the Fort Lauderdale area. In the late 1980's, Mr. Dane switched his concentration to office buildings and a few years later to shopping centers. In 1992, Mr. Dane founded DIM, B.V., a Dutch Corporation, and through this organization he initiated 16 partnerships, which successfully invested in 18 commercial real estate projects in the United States which have all been sold.
In 1996, he founded DIM Vastgoed, a Dutch Real Estate Fund, which invests exclusively in commercial real estate located in the Southeast United States. This fund went public in 1999 and is currently listed on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange. Since its inception, DIM Vastgoed has acquired 24 properties and sold 4. The present total assets are worth approximately $500 million. Mr. Dane, as Managing Director, has been responsible for initiating and overseeing the growth strategy as well as the overall asset management of this fund.
The total value of real estate transactions that Mr. Dane has initiated during his career, including acquisitions, dispositions and financing exceeds $1.5 billion.
Mr. Dane has served as the President of DBR & Associates, LLC (f/k/a DBR Asset Management, LLC) since its inception in 1996. DBR is responsible for the operational, financial, and administrative management of the real estate portfolio of DIM Vastgoed as well as several other private clients. Today, DBR & Associates, LLC manages over $650 million worth of commercial real estate and is considered one of the most diverse and comprehensive real estate companies headquartered in South Florida. Serving as President, Mr. Dane is responsible for the general management of the company as well as participating in all strategic decision making in enhancing the company's overall performance.
